Hello!
Thank goodness the sun is back out!! I now remember why I love summer so much.
This is such an exciting time of year! The weather is perfect, my friends are all coming back into town, I’ll be on vaca soon, and my birthday is tomorrow
I’ve been pretty busy as of late, but a better kind of busy than with school. The beach is packed, and the Hurley US Open of Surfing is beginning next week! This is probably the biggest event of the year for my city. Surfers from all around the world come to compete in a surf contest during the biggest set of waves. You would never believe how many people come to watch, theres always a few small concerts and celebs that come down too.
Theres always a ton of booths set up loaded with free stuff. It’s too bad I’ll be missing most of it this year when I go off to Michigan. My school will even been competing in a Hurley fashion show called Walk the Walk, against 4 other schools in the nation to win 25,000 dollars! I wish I could watch it because all my friends will be in it! you can go on www.hurley.com/wtw to view the videos that my school posted to enter the contest, they should still be up. ![]()
Anyway, so I am very much looking forward to this weekend! My sister and I will celebrate with our family for dinner, and then Saturday we will have a small bonfire with our friends. Do you have any plans for this weekend?
So I reallly haven’t talked about dating much on here, and I think that’s because I have never really put myself out there from lack of confidence, if you will. But for those of you who are friends with me on Facebook…its true, (Courtney, this is for you! hehe :p)Â I have a boyfriend
I am very happy, this is something new and exciting for me and I feel even more confident in myself because he doesn’t seem to care. For those of you who are in a relationship, or have had a bf/gf, did you ever discuss your CP with your significant other? I was super nervous about what he thought about the way I walk, but he reassured me that the way I walk doesnt really matter because I dont let it define me, and that it just makes me more of who I am both inside and out. So theres that! I’d love to hear about your dating experiences, I am curious to know what its like for others with CP out there. Share if you’d like.
I’ll be on to blab about the weekend, no doubt! Enjoy your weekend and summer!

Wow, sounds like your enjoying your summer which is great. Have fun in Michigan
Lol, thanks for the mini shout out Katy! This post is actually right up my alley believe it or not
I took am…*drum roll* taken
n’ I hope it works out for you Katy ’cause you deserve all the goodness that comes to you.
My boyfriend have been together for almost a year and a half. I was super skeptic at first about dating a “normal” guy but it doesn’t feel as weird or different as I thought it would be because he doesn’t make me feel as though I am. If you can make it pass the first 6 months, you ought to be solid form there.

Wonderful to hear about your significant other.
And I really like the layout, especially the topics you can click on top (are they a menu?)
And happy birthday!

I just came accross your blog when I was looking up cp blogs and I am very impressed. I have a 5 year old little girl, her name is Anika and she has cp only on her left side. I have never really talked with anyone that is like her, so I wonder if she will ever be able to walk in flip flops and things like that. She is the second of 4 girls and she tries to keep up with the others, but things like riding bikes and roller skateing she has not been able to do yet. I hope you keep this blog up and a late Happy Birthday to you and your sister!!

Adelaide- Thank you! Yeah, I like this new layout too, I think. The menu shows the categories of the ‘topics’ of my posts. I am thinking about changing some of them to fit my previous posts better. It is some what of a menu.
Thank you, Amanda!
I’ve still been able to play soccer on a regular team, do pe in school, go on hikes with family an friends, it all just takes a bit more patience and effort (on everyone’s part) so just know that she has so much potential!
This blog has been super fun to have. I know what you mean, even the littlest things like walking in flip flops becomes a huge ordeal at times. I have always found that sandals with ankle straps are the best, I was always able to run around alongside my friends still! I am not sure if your daughter’s CP is the same as mine, but I think it’s great that you allow her to try to keep up with her sisters. I think that is the best thing you could really do for her, is just let her do her own thing and figure out what she is capable of. I was never able to rollerblade, but if we were ever at a rink, id use a chair to help support me. I also didn’t learn how to ride a bike until I was eight, so don’t let her stop trying!
