Hellooo!
15ish mile bike ride down the coast=not so smart but very fun! I think I will be a bit sore. Haha, it was so worth it though…I went with my sister and it turned into this long adventure! I hope that I can keep up the cardio, I haven’t done much in over a month! I really have to keep up the stretching too, or else I’ll be right back where I started. Yikes.
Off to sleep, happy 2010, have a great weekend! Yay for TCP being on the first page of google, thank you computer tech people who support me!!

Have a great time with the bike.
I had to stop riding bikes at the end of 1999.
Adventures are awesome!
What do you do with the cardio?
I’ve read about some of your bike adventures in recent months.
What a bummer, riding a bike is my favorite type of cardio. I haven’t been able to do much these past few weeks, but normally I try to ride my bike or jog on the treadmil or outside at least 3-4 days a week.
Haha, yes I love biking!
Katy,
I just ran into your blog and I Love It! you are doing an awesome thing here! I am 25 and I too have Cerebral Palsy (spastic diaplegia) I am going to subscribe to your blog and sit down and read your previous posts. I came across this entry while doing some searching about bike riding and wanted to ask you a couple of questions. How do you do with bike riding? What type of bike do you use? Do you have any trouble keeping your feet with the pedals? Do you need any type of adaptations to beA able to ride? I am asking because I just bought a three wheeled recumbent bike and I love it, but I am having trouble with keeping my foot with the pedals, I I have tried several different types of pedals and straps and whatnot, but I am still looking for a good option. Any advice? Thanks! Keep up the awesome job with the blog, you seem like you are an awesome person. Id like to keep in touch and maybe swap stories.
Angie
Hi Angie!
I’d like that too!

Thank you.
But yes, I actually have these strap things on my pedals to keep my foot secure because my foot always slides off as well, it’s a pain! I’m sure you can find them at any recreational store, they are just very simple straps that you can clip onto your pedals, that you slide your feet into. I ride just a normal beach cruiser, I am probably due for an upgrade though, it has been about 7 years haha. I ride my bicycle fine though, I prefer it over running for exercise because I feel like there is less pressure on my joints… the only trouble I face is sometimes loss of balance and my right- non cp side gets really fatigued because it is doing most of the work. Other than that, I love biking! It is a fun way to get where you want, and great exercise at the same time. :p Talk soon I hope! Thanks for all the great compliments, this blog is super fun.
I am at my dad’s for the summer. I have a weight problem , and really like to start getting some exercise. I can use a treadmill but it’s not at all fun .
Bike riding sounds fun. I really am not at all sure what they cost. Or what kind of bicycle would work best for me.
I am a 24 year old girl and weigh around 200 lbs can anyone give me some advise? Thanks Kelly
Hi Kelly,
That is so great you want to take up exercising.
I love biking, because pretty much anyone who is mobile can pull it off with some work.
Hmm, reguarding buying a bike, a decent one could cost anywhere from 200-600 dollars I’d assume. But there are always great finds if you just really look. Maybe even target or walmart will have an inexpensive one! I also know of a type of bike that is for spinning classes, those go for around 500 dollars but they are a great investment. We keep one in our garage and I will just bring it inside if it is too windy outside, or my favorite show is on!
Well sorry I am not much help…..good luck!
