Teen Cerebral Palsy Advice

Hey Guys!

Hope your week is starting off on a good note, I know mine is!

I just finished this crazy hike in a place called El Morro Canyon! It is up near Laguna Beach, and has all these steep hills, but once you get to the top it is totally worth it! The view is gorgeous, the Pacific Ocean stretches for miles and the canyon to your opposite is full of green rolling hills. And, of course the weather is almost always perfect here, so thats a plus :) If you ever get a chance to get out to Southern Ca, go to this spot!!

After a workout as intense and beautiful as that one, I just had to share! I went with my twin sister who doesn’t have CP and my best friend, who, I hate to admit are out of shape! Myself included! I knew it was gonna be tough, but I am always up for a good challenge :) Its about a 4 mile loop of steep hills, both up and down, so by the time we got to the top I was done! My legs felt like jello, and running down was even more difficult because my balance is not 100%…but I think that’s what makes these experiences so memorable for me, because I work twice as hard to push myself.

I look at writing and working out at my two outlets, running, even walking gives me the chance to think, and I feel so incredibly proud and good about myself afterwards, it’s always worth the extra effort :) My parents are personal trainers, so I grew up living a very fit life, always very active and on the move. I feel so lucky that I am able to go on these hikes and still feel great after! Are any of you guys active? Do you play sports on a school team or with your friends? What are your stress or emotional outlets? Let’s talk! :)

Enjoy your day, Stay happy and healthy!
